March 21, 2009 Lacrosse

Today I was the scoreboard operator at the Lacrosse game. Nothing new here, the only thing that I did to help out was to keep an eye on the game and call out stats. I've actually got to the point where I can call out the game all day long. The only problem with Lacrosse is that its hard to see the numbers of the players from the pressbox. Other than that Lacrosse is actually very easy to game to operate.

March 18, 2009 Men's Baseball

Today was once again Men's Baseball. Today we did thinks a little different. We had job rotation from scoreboard operator and the person entering the stats. We also had one person just keep an eye on the game. So I did the scoreboard and input the stats. I only did three innings but it took me awhile to get the hang of it but I did. Working the computer reminded me a lot of the soccer games but in a different program. If giving the chance to actually do the computer the entire game I probably could do it.

March 12, 2009 Baseball/Lacrosse/Baseball

Today was crazy day. The Lacrosse game was scheduled for five o’clock that day and we had a double header at baseball starting at three. I offered to help start baseball until Lacrosse started. I was once again keeping an eye of game as an extra set of eyes. I left there to work the Lacrosse game. My duties there were to keep score and to call out stats like I did in Soccer. I had to add one point to the scoring team and stop the clock on scored goals and when a card was issued. With stats I had to call out things like “ground control”, “turn over”, “ground ball” and other Lacrosse terminology. This was the first time I actually done this. I was learning the terms from the last Lacrosse game so I could help out call stats. I did a lot better than I thought I would do. After Lacrosse was finished I loaded up what equipment I had to and offered to help finish the second baseball game. I was once again the extra set of eyes and when the game ended I put up the equipment for the scoreboard and gave the coaches of each team the box scores.

March 11, 2009 Lacrosse Into Baseball

Today I was scoring the Lacrosse game. The game was moved to March 12, 2009 due to the lack of referees. After we packed up the equipment I was giving the option to help out at baseball as an extra eye on stats. I accepted and went down to help run baseball. I was mainly helping out the scoreboard operator and I was giving the duty of “DJ”, which was basically fading in and out the music. I was also watching for things that happened so if the person doing stats missed something I was able to tell that person what happened.
